Human Trafficking Project

The project was implemented over 24 months from Rruga me Pisha Foundation in partnership with the BBC World Service Trust and the European Centre for Independent Broadcast Journalism in Serbia.

The overriding objective of this project was to promote local engagement in the issues concerned with Trafficking of Human Being, so that local communities feel empowered to tackle this issue themselves. The project delivered 12 professional trainings ( 6 days each) with participation of 250 journalists and civil society workers from Albania and Serbia.

 The trainings were conducted by two BBC World Service Senior Journalists specialized on investigative journalism and social journalism respectively Ms. Naomi Goldsmith and Hilderganrd Dumper. .

 During the trainings the 250 journalists and civil society workers from both Albania and Serbia gathered professional expertise on how to investigate the stories, how to protect the victims of trafficking, respecting the code of ethics, how to report on human trafficking, and how to cooperate with the civil society organisations that works in the field of combatting human trafficking and protect the victims.
